Formally announced by Promotions Top Rank President Bob Arum to set the November 15, fight of junior welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto.

RP boxing team, to practice in Cuba for World Boxing Championships

For them to boost up the campaign of Philippines in near AIBA World BoxingChampionships to be held in Milan, Italy on September 1-12, RP boxing team scheduled to leave Philippines to practice in Cuba.

Boxing World Cup gold medalist, light flyweight Harry Tañamor lead the nine-man squad. The 21-day training program of the Philippine team will begin in first week of August.

Aside from Tanamor also include expect to go in Cuba, Rey Saludar (51kgs.), Joan stockpile (54kgs.), Aston Francis Palicte (54kgs.), Charly Suarez (57kgs.), Jheritz Chaves (57kgs.), Joegin Ladon (60kgs.), Jameboy Vicera (60kgs.) and Genebert Basadre (64kgs.).

Cuban coaches Enrique Steyners Tissert, Dagoberto Rojas Scot and national Mentor Patricio Gaspi will see the training program.

Amatuer Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) executive director Ed Picson said that except male boxer who trained in Cuba, they’re now also possible participation of women in the AIBA.

“We would probably have them training in India if China is unavailable,” the statement ABAP.

Rojas of Dominican Republic, new WBC featherweight Champion

New WBC featherweight champion Elio Rojas of Dominican Republic, after defeated in unanimous decision Takahiro Aoh of Japan.

Ricky Hatton returns to gym for possible fight against WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko. Senchenko is very happy for such news. In his 29 fights, Senchenko has no losses and also silver medalist in Sydney Olympics.

If for example Senchenko vs. Hatton fight will be finalized it is the largest fight of Ukrainian Boxer.

WBA champion Shane Mosley, has new fight

WBA welterweight champion Shane “Sugar” Mosley found a new foe after surrendering to challenge welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. According to reports, the undefeated WBC champion Andre Berto is the next foe of Mosley at the end of the year.

But according to Richard Schaefer, chief executive officer of Golden Boy Promotions, there is no formal conversation by Lou DiBella, the promoter of Berto.

Likewise the statement of the camp of Berto not yet began the negotiations for the unification bout.

“I made a few calls to Golden Boy. Andre is very interested in the fight. He wants to fight Mosley. I’ve never had a problem making fights with Golden Boy. I think we can make this fight,” DiBella.

Donaire, make fans day on Saturday in U.S.

Media Day of Nonito Donaire are open to all fans on coming Saturday in San Carlos, California.

Donaire called “Filipino Flash” and he will fight Rafael “El Torito” Concepcion of Panama on August 15 at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas.

Donaire former world champion in 112 pounds and he will go up 115 pounds division for attempting to get the WBA interim super flyweight title from Concepcion.

Donaire known in his clean records which still has not been losing in four world title fights and all fight are in impressing knock-out.

For now, Donaire plans to train at Undisputed Boxing Gym in Northern California, just near the Top Rank Gym.
