Swiss star Cancellara, win first stage of Tour de France

Switzerland Olympic time-trial champion Fabian Cancellara won in first stage of Tour de France. Cancellara’s win in first stage would mean holding the yellow jersey.

Fabian Cancellara ended the first stage 15.5 kilometer run in 19 minutes and 32.24 seconds that followed by Alberto Contador, 19 minutes and 50 seconds which is 18 seconds between them by Cancellara.

“I am quite proud; I put in the maximum possible effort. I was one of the favorites to win here before the race and I knew if I got things right it would be very difficult for my rivals to beat me,” said Cancellara .

Cancellara was fellow citizen of tennis superstar Roger Federer who wants to surpass the 14th Grand Slam record of Pete Sampras.

“We might be from a small country, but we have talented sportsmen,” more of it.

Meanwhile, seven-times Tour champion Lance Armstrong, is good beginning as he return. Lance Armstrong place 10th and finish first stage 20 minutes and 12 seconds.

Noppawan Lertcheewakarn beaten the world junior no.1 Kristina Mladenovicto, 3-6,6-3,6-1.

Noppawan the first Thai player to won a Grand Slam title on grass court.

Noppawan got the two double titles in 2008 junior U.S. Open and 2009 French Open.

Serena Williams, get the 11th singles championship title

Serena Williams kneel down after it got the third Wimbledon title. Serena beaten her sister Venus, 7-6 (3), 6-2. Double celebration by Serena because United State of America Independence Day.

This was the fourth time in Wimbledon finals that the sisters will face each other, wherein won the final champion in 2002.

“It feels so amazing. I’m so blessed. I feel like I should be holding the trophy. I cannot believe I’m holding it. It’s named for Venus and she always wins. It has not settled in yet that I won, “says Serena.

In front of 15,000 fans, Serena made to stop Venus to get the third Wimbledon 2009 title.

Federer vs Roddick in Wimbledon 2009 finals

Andy Roddick is very excited to face Roger Federer in the finals of Wimbledon Championship 2009 after he defeat Andy Murray of Britain in their semifinals match-up.

The 2003 U.S. Open champion became emotional after win 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (5) against the no. 3 Murray.

While leaving, Roddick was quiet because the opportunity to savor the gratitude given all the changes in the past month.

Because of diet, Roddick decreased by 15 pounds of weight and also get this new coach to improve returns, volleys and backhand.

“To be honest, the last couple of years, I did not know if I’d ever get a chance to play for another Grand Slam title,” Roddick.

Roddick is considered to be the underdog, contrary to Federrer including those losing in 2004 and 2005 Wimbledon finals and the 2006 U.S. Open final.

Cotto, agrees 145 pounds against Manny Pacquiao- Arum

WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto agreed to fight junior welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao in catch weight 145 lbs.

Venus Williams vs Serena Williams on Wimbledon Finals

Venus Williams vs. Serena Williams make family reunion on the Women’s Wimbledon singles finals after successfully win the Wimbledon semifinal match-up.

It is the fourth time in the Wimbledon finals that the two sisters Williams will face each other.

Two-time champion Serena Williams beaten seeded number 4 Elena Dementieva 6-7 (4), 7-5, 8-6, wherein 2 hours and 49 minutes.

The Serena vs. Dementieva semifinal match-up is the longest women’s semifinal at Wimbledon in past 40 years.

In the sides of five-time champion Venus Williams, she beat Dinara Safina only 51 minutes.

“Oh, my God, this is my eighth final, and it’s a dream come to true to be here again and have the opportunity to hold the plate up,” says Venus.

Venus Williams surprise that she will face her sister in Wimbledon 2009 Finals.

“A fourth-final it’s so exciting. It was so hard before my match to watch all that drama. It was so difficult. But the hardest part is next to come, to play Serena Williams, said Venus.

Despite in being sisters the match-up will be hard.

“I’m happy for her to be in the final, but I have to face her and defeat her. I do not necessarily want to lose her, but for sure I want me to win. I do not want to see myself disappointed. I need to get titles, too. I’m still the big sister, but I’m still going to play great tennis, “statement by Venus.

But if the father of Serena and Venus will ask, only one will win.

“All I know is a Williams is going to win,” Richard Williams says.

After the press conference earlier in Las Vegas for “Pinoy Power 2″ IBF flyweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire and Bernabe Concepcion, announced today that the tickets will start sell on the Saturdays in America. The tickets are worth $ 200, $ 100, and $ 50.

Donaire Jr. will fight former world champion Rafael “El Torito” Concepcion for World Boxing Association super flyweight interim championship.

Nonito said, he is ready fighting Panama star Rafael Conception wherein he almost watches all the fights of Conception. This is the first of Concepcion to fight in America particularly in Las Vegas. Panamian Boxer is also knockout Alex Banal last year of July.

“This is my first time in Las Vegas. No one really knows my name. On August 15, they will when I take that title belt to Panama, “says Concepcion.

Bernabe Concepcion will fight World Boxing Organization (WBO) featherweight champion Steven Luevano.

Steven Luevano is from East Los Angeles wherein he got his title after beaten Nicky Cook in London in 2007. “For sure, Concepcion will be in top shape,” Luevano says.

Robert Garcia, the trainer of Luevano said, this is the right opportunity to compare him to coach Freddie Roach.

“It will be interesting to see how we do against a Freddie Roach-trained fighter in Bernabe Concepcion. Roach is the best trainer in the world today. This is an opportunity for me to see how I compare with Roach, how well I am doing as a trainer, “said Garcia.
