Andy Roddick, withdraw joining “Indianapolis Tennis Championships”

Because of right hip flexion injury, Wimbledon runner-up Andy Roddick chose to withdraw the Indianapolis Tennis Championships scheduled to be held next week.

Roddick injury is the same as he withdraws the U.S. Davis Cup.

Kevin Martin, the tournament director is disappointed to Roddick for not participating, but he understands the condition of tennis superstar.

Martin announced that he must ensure the participation of world’s number 17 James Blake, before the start of qualifying round this Friday.

Rafael Nadal, back training for Montreal Tournament on August

Former World’s No. 1 Rafael Nadal, will return to hard-court tournament in Montreal Tournament next month.

Benito Perez-Barbadillo, publicist of the six-time Grand Slam title winner, said that beginning next week Nadal will be having its training after it incurred a the knee injury.

Remember that Nadal didn’t finish the fourth round French Open last month of May, due knee injury. Also failed to defend his Wimbledon title that currently hold by Roger Federer.

Dinara Safina, still no. 1 in WTA Rankings

Dinara Safina still got the no. 1 spot in WTA rankings, despite losing to American Venus Williams in the Wimbledon semifinals.

The rankings rought out by WTA, almost no changes to the list of best tennis players, wherein Wimbledon champion Serena Williams is second in world rankings.

Meanwhile, from 42nd place Spanish Maria Martinez Sanchez got No. 12 spot, following her victory in tournament in Bastad, Sweden

French tennis player, found dead in an apartment in Paris

French tennis player Mathieu Montcourt found died. This revealed by the French Tennis Federation of what happen to the world’s number 119.

Policeman doesn’t provide an actual cause of death of Montcourt but they will provide after the body is autopsy.

“It is with great sadness that the French tennis federation has learned of the sudden death of Mathieu Montcourt. Mathieu was an enthusiastic young man, passionate, very endearing, and extremely appreciated for his kindness and politeness,” that part of the message released by French tennis federation.

Four-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal is very sad for what happen to Montcourt.

“This morning I woke up with one of the worst news anyone can receive. I heard about the death of our friend Mathieu Montcourt. I am still under shock for this. I cannot believe it, “Nadal said.

Nadal and Montcourt is strictly rival players when they still only a junior circuit.

Montcourt died at age 24.

Roger Federer got the 15th grand Slam title at Wimbledon 2009 after beaten Andy Roddick in men singles final score of 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, 3-16 and 16-14 in four hours and 35 minutes game.

such won by Federer, its surpass the record of Pete Sampras, 14 Grand Slam wins and recovered its title after defeated to Rafael Nadal last year.

The 27-years Roger Federer will return to the top of the world rankings higher than Rafael Nadal.

Roger Federer got the first French Open title last month and now has earned the Wimbledon title six times, U.S. Open five times, Australian Open three times and Roland Garros for one victory.

It was not easy to Roger Federer to won the match-up because just two points lead was his only advantage over Andy Roddick to the second set of their game and there was still a tie break.

Federer vs Roddick in Wimbledon 2009 finals

Andy Roddick is very excited to face Roger Federer in the finals of Wimbledon Championship 2009 after he defeat Andy Murray of Britain in their semifinals match-up.

The 2003 U.S. Open champion became emotional after win 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (5) against the no. 3 Murray.

While leaving, Roddick was quiet because the opportunity to savor the gratitude given all the changes in the past month.

Venus Williams vs. Serena Williams make family reunion on the Women’s Wimbledon singles finals after successfully win the Wimbledon semifinal match-up.

It is the fourth time in the Wimbledon finals that the two sisters Williams will face each other.

Two-time champion Serena Williams beaten seeded number 4 Elena Dementieva 6-7 (4), 7-5, 8-6, wherein 2 hours and 49 minutes.

The Serena vs. Dementieva semifinal match-up is the longest women’s semifinal at Wimbledon in past 40 years.

In the sides of five-time champion Venus Williams, she beat Dinara Safina only 51 minutes.
